Who We Are

Mission Statement:

La Fundación Presbítero Don Antonio José Martinez, a New Mexico not-for-profit organization, is principally organized for the purpose of conducting educational, scholarly, literary, artistic and similar charitable activities which serve to promote awareness of the culture and history of northern New Mexico with principal emphasis on the historical period covering the life of Antonio José Martínez, Cura de Taos, (1793-1867) and the historical accomplishments of Padre Martínez. In connection with the purposes outlined above, La Fundación may also acquire, preserve, create, maintain, or restore artifacts, monuments, structures and sites of historical significance or which further serve to memorialize Padre Martínez.

The Corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended from time to time, or the corresponding section of any future tax code (collectively, the "Code"). At this time La Fundación is in the process of applying for tax exemption under the Code above stated.

La Fundación is based in the Padre Martínez Home at 108-C Padre Martínez Lane in Taos, and its mailing address is 4053 NDCBU, Taos, NM 87571
